It has silver value of course, but not a lot. All of the 1940s Mercury dimes had very high mintages so collector value is minimal, unless it's a scarce variety. They minted 205 million of these in 1942 for example.

You can use an online price guide like this one https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide...es/dimes/31/ to check your coins. You'll have to learn to judge what their condition is though.
