I found it difficult to find this information the way the site is organized. Maybe moderators can help or point in the right direction.

On what day did the CCF forum start?
Link to the first post and thread on CCF?
What were the first 10 CCF registered usernames?
Who are the 10 users with the highest postcounts?

I'm a relative latecomer from 2016. Wish I had found this place sooner. I love this place because it is so well organized. The effort to keep this place tidy for people with diverse numismatic interests is incomparable. It was built for and by people who really care about hobby. This is not unique to this site as others have been constructed thoughtfully. I think the contrast with the TPG-sponsored forums is that this one doesn't have the TPG commercial interests overlaying every feature of the site. This place feels a lot like a large virtual coin club that begins with a title that includes the words "Community" and "Family." At the other sites I feel more like a customer.

So true, numismatic student! CCF was the first forum I visited that didn't give me bad vibes. I shunned all "social" media and internet forums for years but it feels like home here.

Follow DBM's link. Clicking on "Member Since" sorts users in chronological order. Clicking it again sorts in reverse order.

CCF is the nearest digital example I have found to a family.

Numismatics has been a lifetime interest for me, covering more than 60 years, and still going strong.
CCF suits me, because the various sub forums cover the whole of numismatics.
So do my numismatic interests.

I don't do social media.

Yes CCF definitely has a feeling of community. Everyone is kind, thoughtful and so knowledgeable. Bobby has put in place a fantastic set of rules that are actually enforced giving this place an even more comfortable feel. Thank you Forum Mom, Dad and all the moderators for making CCF an enjoyable and safe place.

Does have the feel of a decades old three car garage out back--complete with a few old lawn chairs and misc. stuff--much of it combustible--piled along the back wall. And, of course, there are the many characters who stop in at all hours...

Great link, thank you. According to that useful link, the site started on 2/1/2005 when the first 2 users Susan and Bobby opened their accounts. Looks like the questions have been answered except who made the first thread and post and which thread it was.

When I got back into coin collecting in April 2023, I checked out a bunch of sites. The open forums where anyone could post seemed like an Internet free-for-all, with a lot of bad information and really snarky behavior. I found CCF while trying to find data on the presence of War Nickels in circulation. Someone had made a really great write-up that received a lot of thoughtful commentary. Once I joined, I could see that the forum was well moderated, which is essential to keeping Internet weeds under control. It's a great resource, assuming you are willing to roll up your sleeves and make an honest effort to learn the material. The Internet resources for coin collecting are bafflingly disorganized, so it is quite helpful to be able to ask seasoned collectors where to find information on certain subjects, and then return with questions after reading.
