Seems interesting enough that I'd probably throw it in a 2x2 for safekeeping. Not sure that there will ever be much of a numismatic premium, but it is interesting to ponder.

Thanks Spence. It's been in a 2x2 for almost a year now. Nothing too special but a nice conversation piece. Keeps the brain working thinking how did this happen

Looks like a case of cracked copper plating.
Error coin writer and researcher.

A question.
Why wouldn't this be a defective planchet?
The "fissure" on the obverse seems to be more than a plating issue since it appears deeper than the plating.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

I agree with that defective copper plating. Come across a few of these while roll hunting. I haven't found one that's worthy for me to keep. That would be one in a 2x2 for me

Thanks gorham collector. I got this one from ebay for around 20 bucks. I thought it was cool so I bought it. When you can't find it buy it. Lol
