Seeker_101 Pillar of the Community United States 1791 Posts	Posted 03/20/2024 9:26 pm The luster on this penny made it difficult for a lighting challenged person such as myself to get a god picture. I hope the pictures are good enough to get a ballpark grading. The whitish area in the lettering of United appears like a struck through oil (slightly different finish on the coin) when viewed through a loupe. Report this Post to the Staff

This was my father's and has been sealed away for I don't know how many years. I have 13 more like it and 2 Ds and an S plus another dozen gray toned ones. I did scratch the edge of the coin as well. First with a dental pick which was dull and then with an eyeglass screwdriver. I don't know if the scratches will show in the edge pictures. Front and back again. Pictures taken with different cameras. (Battery died in one.) These last 2 images are in full lighting. Report this Post to the Staff

Also, the mirror-like appearance is a dead giveaway.
