I've seen this coin discussed previously, perhaps on here? Other sources say there are 3 circulation strikes known. This coin sold on Stack's in 2014 for $82,250. https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/l...65-pcgs-cac. Oddly, the PR67 mentioned is shown on PCGS as MS67. I found the PR67 in a Coin News article and its cert# 30190595 is no longer valid.
Is it just me or do I see flatness in the hair also on the eagles Brest. Would that not take it out of the MS range and put it in the AU range . Or is this coin known for a weak strike.
It definitely is known for the weak strike, much like the 1921 versions. This was a primary reason for lowering relief on the production dies starting that year. This is another of the "unicoins" that people search for...
