I find it hard to get a picture of the prices. Are these popular today? Some commeroratives only fetch bullion. How is the collecting demand for these ungraded around ms68 -state. I find them beautifull but somewhat pricey when I look. The mintage numbers are fairly low. If I buy them I'm not interested in a profit short term but want to pay fair market value.
I value your opinion

If all 6 are in original packaging and pristine, $850 is a great price. I keep an eye on the going rate for these and usually see the set go for ~1000 or more. Long term investment potential- I'll let others comment on that, but I don't think this set will increase beyond where it is now to any great extent.

Just my opinion, but I think most of the appreciation of these has already occurred, but who knows ten+ years from now.....

Being The Morgan silver dollars Are the Most Collected Dollar To Date, The Original Coins. These 2021 coins were made To Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Last Year they were manufactured. With Several Differing Mint Marks That Said, Collecting the Original Series 1878 Through 1921 is Very Challenging to assemble, THEN they made the 2021's Carson City Strikes... They were Originally sought after by Many whom had been collecting , These IMO are Huge Keys to the " Modern " Morgans, in that The Carson City Coins Were and Still are Highly Sought After coins, Not to mention Now, Long After the 2021 releases, They are Fetching in OGP'g $1,000.00 a Set...... In All Original Condition........ Collect what You will, Peace dollars are Also a Big Hit, I do Not see these going any Lower in Cost to obtain, Just My Opinion . Love The Series :)

What kind of a return are you thinking? How long would you plan to hold them for?

Quote: They are Fetching in OGP'g $1,000.00 a Set...... In All Original Condition........ Thank you Morgans dad! What does OGP stand for? Collects82, I'm happy if they keep their value, anything more is a bonus. These have never been opened according to the seller and bought directly from us mint. So I guess they are in the range from ms66-69, I don't expect a ms70, and I wont have them graded. So the 850$ would be for a set in above conditions.

For a coin as new as this to be a ms66 it must have been subject to much handling? Or does the ones leaving us mint often be as low as ms66 fresh from the mint? I have read that the P one had problems during production

Do you think that this is marks on the coin or on the holders or dust?

An Investment? I doubt it. Unless silver hits $200 an ounce. They are just fancy commemoratives hyped to be part of a Morgan collection. (Oh, I'm gonna catch some backlash for that )

They were the first legal tender Morgans released in 100 years, first legal tender Peace dollars in about 86 years, they continue to be in high demand. Anyone who was lucky enough to get them from the mint when released in 2021 can pretty much double their money and more depending on the privy if they want to sell. Check ebay sold listings. Anytime you can double your money within 3 years, yeah I consider that an investment. But I don't think they will appreciate a lot in the future, maybe not a good investment for those buying them now, just my opinion. I was lucky to get most from the Mint on release days and the rest soon after.

Of the full date series, the 2021 series are still in demand. I have a full set and purchased extras, I sold all extras and made a tidy profit. My cost for the set came out to $40 each after I sold my extras so if I ever sell my set I'm pretty certain I'll make a profit. The 2023, I don't believe will be profitable long term. I actually decided to reduce my subscription to only the proof peace. No longer interested in collecting the full series going forward.

If it makes you happy, go for it! For reference, original issue price for the 2021 Morgan and Peace dollars was $80 each, which amounts to a $62/coin markup at $850 for the 6-coin set. If they change tax and shipping, obviously that number goes up a bit. I would agree that any appreciation over issue price has already happened. FWIW, I bought two sets and at the time asked my local coin shop if they wanted to buy a set; they weren't interested given the current market for them. Things may have changed now but I'm sure any local coin shop would want to be much closer to original issue price or lower. Gotta keep the lights on and pay wages.
