Joe is also one of the foremost experts on Henning nickels and has made many new discoveries on them in recent years. My book is loaded with up-to-date, detailed information you won't find anywhere else on any web page, YouTube video, or social media page. It's loaded with HD photos, close-ups, recent sale prices, and other good online and literary resources you should use to make you a more informed collector. https://www.ebay.com/itm/186405696352(I've heard we're mentioned in the book. )

I had no idea that he made 500,000 of these nickels. Clearly not all have survived, but it would be interesting if there are some survivalship estimates in this book.

Pleased to have another reference on this popular contemporary counterfeit. In nearly 400,000 nickels roll hunting searched I never came across one. Edit - $105 on ebay. That seems incredibly expensive to me for a book on a niche collecting interest. Perhaps the 'niche' topic, and low expected purchase demand justify the price given the production costs, plus the author investment in research time. Still - this is a price that I doubt many interested collectors, myself included, see as a bridge too far and will not be willing to pay.

Hello, Everyone! So far, the book has had nothing but positive reviews about the content, photos, layout, and the overall quality of the book - from those who actually ordered it. Also, I know some have complained and/or been sarcastic about the price ($80 direct and $100 on ebay) with some thinking no one would be buying it at that price, I'm happy to report that of the 175 copies I had made, 156 have been sold; I have only 19 left as of this writing (and I still have not been to a single show with my books). In addition, some people have clearly never written their own book and have no idea what it costs to deliver a high-quality, professional-looking book. My pages are 80 stock and the cover is 130 stock, both with glossy finishes; that means it ain't cheap. My HD photos are bold and in color; that ain't cheap either. After I pay all of my costs, including all the packaging and shipping costs, I make around $22 per book profit; I ain't gettin' rich. People had the same complaints about my error book (e.g. it was too expensive, no one would buy it, etc.) and I have sold over 900 in the last three years. If anyone is considering writing their own book, here are five bits of advice: 1. Pick a topic that is desperately needed in numismatics and be the person to fill that void. 2. Self-publish and stay away from publishers. They will assume total control, including changing covers, the layout, etc., and will grab most of your profits. 3. Learn how to use a good quality camera with a macro lens to take your own photos. 4. Introduce and define numismatic terms in plain language so even a non-collector can follow along. 5. Have a great cover and informative back cover that leaves a possible buyer intrigued. Have a great day! ~Joe Cronin

Another criticism is that my book offers nothing new. Well, ask that to people who actually bought it.
For example, notice the 1944 on the cover has neither a "Looped R" in PLURIBUS, nor does it have that raised "Dot" above Monticello. The coin is also not overweight and weighs exactly 5 grams (I can email anyone a video proving this as I put it on a scale along with a 5 gram weight to prove my scale is calibrated correctly). According to many "experts" that 1944 coin really can't be a Henning and may be an altered genuine coin or a Henning reproduction.
Overall, the point of the book is that much of what so-called Henning experts claim is either incomplete or totally wrong. The additional die markers and other characteristics I cover go way more in depth. You will likely have to re-check all his known dates.

Quote: People had the same complaints about my error book (e.g. it was too expensive, no one would buy it, etc.) and I have sold over 900 in the last three years. I can speak for the quality of the books as I bought the mint errors to die for book when I was looking for more print resources on learning further about errors and varieties and have mentioned it before. Yes, some books like that do actually benefit greatly from the higher quality stock and high quality color photos and therefore to certain people are well worth the premium. Of course it may also be of benefit to both you and others to perhaps make a cheaper option after awhile, such as a digital/kindle edition if can't do it in print. Not everyone is going to have that kind of money or desire enough to invest in a specialty book like that, and the more specialty it is (such as the henning nickels) it may help its appeal to others as many typical lower grade print books might be more in the 20-39 range or even digital. Heres the error book with a few others I had picked up I recommend. Its too bad some books will be or become hard to find in print as coins are one area where a higher grade book can occasionally be worthwhile with the better images. I found similar with some gaming books where there are only some that took great extra efforts to make a book worthy of print such as a table top book with great photos to keep long term vs the typical digital or lower grade just for reading the content which I prefer just a digital version in those cases and save the excess paper to those who are specialists who really will benefit from the higher quality print version in limited run.

Author! Author!
I think I've run into a couple in circulation back in the '50's but didn't know about then.
My understanding is a lot got dumped in the river (no doubt mentioned in the book).
I do have a couple in my collection now.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Joe I just ordered a book from you. I always loved the Henning nickels and the story behind them. I only found one in my lifetime. Hoping to find another. I will never say never.
