Slider23 Pillar of the Community United States 4468 Posts	Posted 04/24/2024 11:05 am If the weight is correct, the coin appears genuine. The mint mark matches font, size and position. The ring around the rim area is common on both sides of the 14D. On a lot of the middle eastern fakes the only way to tell the coin is counterfeit is from tool marks, depressions, raised bumps and contact marks that are common on the fakes. The coin is showing a lot of hairlines in the photos, so it may have been cleaned. Report this Post to the Staff

That circular ring near the edge is from die erosion, not post-mint damage, so the mint mark isn't necessarily affected. Agree with @Slider23 that many of the middle eastern counterfeits are so good that it would be impossible to tell from photos like this. But nothing jumps out as being suspicious.
