I have a chance to pick this one up for not much over spot, what would be your opinion on the grade? I always find pre-33 difficult to grade. Thanks for any help!

Anywhere from high AU to low Unc to my old eyes (AU58 to MS62). It's tough to grade coins from pictures, but we try! I wouldn't be ashamed of it at all if it were mine.

Spot is over $2300 so I hope you're not thinking about paying that much.

I know you meant to say melt. The gold value in the coin. It appears genuine which is the main concern. If the weight and dimensions are good, then it's good as gold.

Technically it looks AU+ but these sometimes slip into low MS holders. I'd grade it AU55 or 58. Weight should be right at 16.7 grams or a hair over. Diameter should be exactly 27.0 mm. Thickness was not an established mint spec but should be close to 2 mm at the rim. Good luck!

not into gold but the coin looks mid AU. i'd put it at AU55 as I would not want to see this many marks on a 58.

if it it is MS then I would say a nice MS62
