Bought this coin with the intent to crack it out of its PCGS holder but I thought the assigned grade from PCGS was quite interesting. It does have some clashing, and I'll have to research the VAM later. What do you think PCGS said? I don't have this, obviously, so photos are only PCGS and then one of the seller's. Luster may be a little weak but I see no visible friction in the fields. Strike is decent, contact marks are few, and eye appeal is pretty good. I'd guess MS-63 with a shot at 64.
I have an 1884 VAM-2A with the E-clash reverse. The OP's coin shows clashing but not to the extent of VAM-2A.

I'll say MS-64.
Errers and Varietys.

shes really close to MS65. based on the crackout I don't think you would do that if it graded 64 as it could still come back at that grade so I'm saying they called it MS63 which is a total joke

I think this one is an MS-65. Great coin.

good call slider...wasnt even thinking about that. the TV photos are not good to grade from and the other one is too blurry. I can see them calling it AU58

I have a Dansco with a lot of raw AU/BU heavily clashed Morgans, and this grade is why it will soon be joining them, most likely. I paid much less than it would have cost to have had it slabbed which makes it a good deal IMO. I've checked the photos up close and personal and the thing about these marks is they're only visible at certain angles, so I'll have to try to get the marks to show up on camera when it gets here.
