File marks by "ES" in STATES match up as does the slightly rotated die clash. Similar weak center strike. Start of the curve under the 6 very similar. No dot to the right of the 5, but I'm buying your theory. I'm convinced that these two coins were struck by the same die, mine later than yours. I can't get any feel for a grade since the strike is so bad. I'm thinking probably an old obverse cleaning. Reverse looks to have some luster remaining. What a bizarre Cud! panzaldi Bedrock of the Community United States 18664 Posts	Posted 05/08/2024 09:02 am there is some crazy stuff happening with this coin. new photos are better. the coin may have been wiped at some point (jacrispies comment on details) tough call on AU or MS like I stated before and even with the new photos I can't get a good handle it. this is one you'll need to assess in hand. a couple grades are possible AU details (cleaned) AU55 UNC details (cleaned) MS62 Report this Post to the Staff
