Want to see how you stack up against NGC? I failed miserably I was of by 1 pt and got the colour wrong. (I still think I was corrrect and NGC over graded) I still do not have the hang of taking pictures through slabs. lets face it I still have a lot to learn about photography in general. Anyway for your grading pleasure. I just had to have this one simply for the REV.

One of the nicest ones I've seen in awhile. I'm going to say MS-63 because of the chip on the rim.

Nice die cracks. MS64RB. That is not a chip but a piece of white plastic from the holder.

I'll guess 64 Red. Normally I would say 64 Red Brown, but you said you were off on the color and that NGC overgraded it. Beautiful coin whatever the grade is!

Based on your comments, my guess is NGC graded it MS65RB and you graded it MS64BN. I don't see anything in the pics that would keep it from being graded as gem though. So I would go MS65BN right now because I don't think there's enough red remaining for it to go red-brown.
Very nice coin any way you slice it!

Not in the least. Based on your comments and the photos, I took a stab at where you and NGC differed. I agree the coin would be brown if graded today but I bet it had a lot more red in it at the time NGC graded it. I don't see anything that would knock this coin below gem though. Maybe in hand you're picking out something I can't see to make this beauty a 64.

Rev There are two Dings on the wheat ears just to the right of Cents. The design masks them nicely but they are there. Obv There are a couple of dings on the top part of the shield. The leaves have some minor scratches. The T and U of trust are scratched. The arrow heads are missing the sharp relief that I would have expected on a 65 These are more rounded. Combined they make a 64BN for me.
