Looking at My 1972 S tonight I am sending off to be graded and noticed a crack in the 3rd to left pillar of the memorial. (Your left as you look at the picture)

Has anyone heard or seen this error? It's a small crack that goes all the way to the top. (Obviously, not a crack. Some sort of line, it looks like a crack in the pillar though.

Thank you in advance for any feedback!!

Mark

To CCF! I see it, but can't really tell what it is. Maybe a stain?

Do not send it out to be slabbed.

Yes, given the single partial image, the coin appears to be a proof.

a crack? where? The image you provided does not show anything out of the ordinary.
We need a nice large close up of what you see on this proof cent.

Just trying to save you some money. Can not see clearly enough, your picture is out of focus. could be a scratch but either way it is not worth having it slabbed.

Read the link Bobby provided. Your coin is not worth the cost of grading.

You're 100% wasting your money. It's a die crack, they're a dime a dozen. Extremely common.

Here ya go, sold listings, even the highest sale price was less than the grading would cost.

Picture is way too small, but likely only a die chip, very common.

I have 6 coins in my pocket right now, 3 have die chips.
