I found this bill from the bank but I haven't seen the security strip bleed through like this. Is this a common thing?

to the CCF, Kiba68! Is the security strip still in the bill? I remember seeing people pull them out for crazy reasons.

Your picture looks like the security strip was removed. Is that correct?

Welcome to CCF.

I'm assuming by the partial signature (Catalina Vasquez) that it's a series 1990 $100 note, which is the first of our paper money to receive this security strip. You could almost feel the early, thick security strips back then. It looks like incidental dirt during circulation has outlined the strip.

Can the strip even get removed from a not without destroying it?

The early ones could be removed, Dearborn. I can neither confirm nor deny the rumors that I once did this.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes. That was the crazy thing the security strip is still in the bill. I figured it was just worn down after so long but the paper is still smooth when I feel over it. Also thanks Steve you are right it is a 1990 series.
