I"ll take a stab at MS63. Is that a scratch or a strike thru passing through liberty's shins?

It looks like a scratch to me.

I can see a 63 on Monday grading session and a 64 on a Friday afternoon grading session. Nice coin!

not sure what the blow up photo is showing as its too out of focus without any description. too many surface marks for a 64. the scratch across the shin is incused so I'm at MS63 details (scratched)

The blow up photo appears to be a chop mark, but it is a strange looking chop. I can not get past the scratch on liberty dress. MS details scratched.

Apparently chop marks don't affect the grade any more with TPG's. I like this one because it is nicely hidden.

NGC will pass the coin but label it chop marked. PCGS will details the coin. another inconsistency

This one is in a details holder indicating that the rims have been filed. Modern slabs make the rims of coins visible so I conducted a close examination. I wasn't able to find evidence of any filing or tampering with the reeds on the edge nor the raised rims of the coin. Uploaded a video of the coin. Let me know if you see any evidence of filing or tampering on this coin. Thanks!

I can detect any filing from looking at the video. However, PCGS had the coin in hand, and I don't think they just make up that it had filed rims.

Don't think that PCGS makes up things either. However they make mistakes like everyone else. Examined the edge carefully and found nothing. There are 3 areas where the holder makes contact with the coin. Those areas are covered by a translucent soft plastic that hinders visibility about 50% imho opinion, but I can still see the reeds clearly. The upset rim is harder to see clearly in the covered areas.

Also was happy to see that the scratch appears very shallow and the luster is booming and uninterrupted. Likely the finest business strike Trade dollar I own.

If you do not see any rim filing, more to you! That is why we buy the coin and not the holder. One would immediately heavily discount the price because of two words on a piece of paper but the beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I personally don't see any rim filing (maybe reverse K4-5?), but a rim filing would need an in hand inspection because they can be done very well. File lines can be difficult to see through a video screen.

Details wise I would put a grade of MS-63 shot 64.
