Dirt coin post Acetone. I'm inclined to think the black staining would details it - thoughts?

Assumption is fire damage as it was pulled from an area that saw a major fire around the time frame.

looks like this one could have been a dug coin or improperly stored. the darker areas on both sides were probably on the entire coin or most of it and some type of cleaning took place. some of the areas that remain darker could not be removed and the edges of those areas are faded. not sure if that makes sense. I am not saying the coin was harshly cleaned just that it would pull the designation for either cleaned or PMD

Darker areas were pronounced from the get go. Here is pre-Acetone. ED details most likely.

yep. the pre-acetone soak is showing a coin that was not properly stored and the elements reacted with the metal. the acetone removed as much of any organic matter that it could but whats remaining now will not be able to be removed. whether it was acetoned or left original it still would ED
