This looks like a garage error. Someone has pressed other coins into the surface of this coin using a press or hammer. This type of damaged coin is commonly known as a 'Squeeze Job.'

The giveaway is the lettering from the impressions of the dime are reversed. If the coin had been struck by the reverse die of a Roosevelt dime the lettering and images wouldn't be backwards. The same holds true for the multiple shield images on the reverse.

Just intentional Post Mint Damage. PMD

Yokozuna, thanks for your detailed response.i need some clarification please. I noticed that the mirrored impressions are raised as opposed to being depressed. Shouldn't the impression made by vices/ hammer be depressed into the metal instead of raised? And aren't some muled clashes known to depict some mirrored impressions as would appear when letters are reflected upon a mirror? Please expound. Thanks

@1996, I'm glad to see you looking at maddieclashes as that is a wonderful website. You might also spend some time at error-ref, such as here: https://www.error-ref.com/?s=mule+clash

the design elements from the dime on this shield cent look incuse to me, judging by how the edges of the devices of both are highlighted.
I'll have to say a vise job at the moment.

I agree with Dearborn about the "odd" design elements looking incuse.

Going by die cap/ brockage definations, and the incused devices exhibited, and also that brockages can involve multiple coins,is this a brockage? If so,why? And if not, why? The images are from an earlier post where it was implied that the coin is likely a result of a vise job or hammer job. Are all coins with incused devices "garage" errors or are there incused coins that are legitimate brockages/ die caps? Thank you.

Also the coin is not flat. It's kind of shaped like a saucer or a shallow bowl.
