They're "all headed to 2x2s" - really?

Coinfrog Posted - Today :9M ago They're "all headed to 2x2s" - really? Sure why not.. Just because you would not collect (want) them. I do.. My collecting is simple. I keep what I like. My coins may only be worth face value, and that's fine. Every coin I have came from pocket change or family or searching rolls, I don't have anything slab or graded. I don't question your collection or collecting style, why you questioning mine. Pocket Change Collector Jeff

Yldcoin, you should focus on the positive, not the negative. Collect what you wish and enjoy it.

I'm just asking whether these face-value coins are worth the cost of a 2X2 holder since they will unlikely ever be worth more than face value. Replies appreciated.

Frog, I do understand your plight, and I think you mean well, but you must let things run their course, there is no other measure for this. Let folks save what they want. It may change over time, and it may not. To some extent, you have to let people be. I know you went through similar tactics in your early searching and collecting, we all do.

As usual, -makecents- makes sense. A coin collection is both embodied knowledge and the value of the physical collection itself. Especially in the early stages of the hobby, the advancement of knowledge is much more important than the coins themselves. There is also much to be said about enjoying the process.

Heck, I'm almost 60 years into this. You ought to see some of the coins I saved. Collect what you want. Can't get much better than face value, unless you find them.
