The reason that your coin minted in 1966 has no mint mark (this is true for 1965 and 1967 also) is because all US coins of all denominations minted in these years were struck without mint marks no matter where they were produced. This was part of an effort by congress to discourage coin collecting and hoarding. There was even an effort during this period to ban coin collecting because of a major coin shortage.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Separation lines on 966 check, doubled eyelid check, separation lines on U of TRUST check, extra thickness visible on motto check, even with the very slight Machine Doubling the coin shows every late stage marker except one "the die scratches running N to NE from vest to the 1 of 1966"...circulation wore those away and those die polishing scratches usually only show up on MS examples. 4 of the 5 pickups are clearly distinguished congratulations on finding a very sneaky scarce DDO many claimed few found, ANACS worthy!

I stand corrected from last post, die polishing marks running N to NE from vest to 1 of 1966 are worn but visible. 5 of 5 pickup points is a hat trick. Your example i.m.o. is the last discernible stage of this DDO before it completely wore out or was simply replaced. My hypothesis is the mint replaced the die about the time your example was struck. And the real mystery to me and other 1966 lovers is wheres the early die state examples?

Excellent find! The U shows it the best, even in this die stage. ADDED: Figured I would blow up and try to sharpen the OP's pic of the U for everyone. Even with the slightly pixelated pic, you can see the offset.

Hi, great find. I can see the notches on upper U and the distortion as well.
