Half the quarter is shiny the other half is extremely dull. The separation is well defined. You can actually feel the separation between between the shiny and the dull area.   Edited by DLL 07/15/2024 4:45 pm

I just included the picture of the back. I found this quarter in some change that I got recently. I use to collect coins so this one really stood out to me.

When people see a cracked windshield, the do not assume the car was made that way. We need to use this same common sense approach when seeing an abnormal coin as well. ebay shyster auctions and online videos (clickbait to make money from youtube) about coins have misled a lot of people into thinking anything odd looking on a coin could be some valuable treasure. The overwhelming majority of odd looking coins are just damage or environmental changes made to them in circulation.
