From the owner of Maryland Coins, Ethan Opdahl, a new site has been created and is now active, for buying numismatic coins (and bullion). And because there are no seller fees, prices are much lower than ebay. Dealers are vetted and it's free for buyers to create an account. New dealers and coins are still being added, so at the moment, the selection isn't as big as ebay. But if you find something you're looking for, the price is certainly going to be cheaper. numismy.com

Quote: How much are the buyer's fees? How does the payment process work? Numismy integrates with Stripe, a secure and widely-used payment gateway. This ensures a safe and efficient payment process. Are there any fees for selling on Numismy? No! Numismy doesn't take any platform fees on transactions (that's out mission). There are, however, minimal payment processing fees associated with Stripe.

I've purchased from Numismy and I highly recommend. I would love to see the site grow.

Will be interesting to see how this platform evolves over time. The inventory appears (appears....) to be mostly higher end material. Always okay to have an alterative--among many alternatives, in the marketplace.

Looks promising. How will/does the site earn money to maintain itself? Stripe fees? Other?

They are looking to build up the site and make money on ads and other non-transaction related revenue.

A huge amount of dealers are now on Numismy. There's now ~ $350 million worth of coins listed.

It does make me wonder how they deal with dissatisfied buyers. IE fakes or counterfeit. Who bears the responsibility for making that right after money has changed hands.

UPDATE to older post. Numismy is no more. Ethan sent out a notice early this morning, 20 Dec 2025: Quote: This is Ethan from Numismy.
I'm moving on and wanted to thank you for all the support.
I'm now working on something a lot more fun, haha. Still in the coins / collectibles space, of course. He posted a link to a new site that does not appear to be live.
