Not really sure if this an error or what. I see triple stamp on S mint mark, and possibly a slight doubling on the IGWT.
Please educate me..

Yes, split plating on the S. Zinc core has been exposed.

Note: another thing to consider on Proof Coins, they are struck at least 2 times and under close magnification
sometimes they can show very slight doubling as in OP's photos. Still just considered Machine Doubling.

Agree, just split plating.

Note proofs are usually struck more than once. I agree with the MM showing split plating, but I find the plating disturbance North and West of the MM as something not seen everyday. Seems like the plating stuck to the die or was sucked up as the die retracted. Thanks, Doug.

Looks like many of the things are going on that have been mentioned by others. Split plating, MD and maybe lighting issues but something else is happening here. Not sure when it happened, because it is obviously slabbed and could have been done outside of the mint but there is damage to the mint mark. Very easily seen with a pic from VV beside of the OP's coin. The majority of what is going on with the mm has nothing to do with MD.
