Hi, I was wondering what you might think these 3 lines going from the D mintmark to the neck of Lincoln. I have 4 of them that came out of an Uncirculated OBW roll. Thanks

Die gouge if raised. Interesting find.

Gotta ask--what does the reverse look like? Wheat cent reverses can have an interesting array of die cracks and die chips.

Seems like in both instances we have settled on a die gouge, which seems right to me as well. I'd like to propose a follow-on hypothesis though that the die was gouged when the mintmark was being added. Obviously there is no way to know for sure, but the location of it in relation to the mintmark makes me think that the two are related.

Thoughts?
