Spence Moderator United States 34418 Posts	Posted 08/05/2024 11:42 am Seems like in both instances we have settled on a die gouge, which seems right to me as well. I'd like to propose a follow-on hypothesis though that the die was gouged when the mintmark was being added. Obviously there is no way to know for sure, but the location of it in relation to the mintmark makes me think that the two are related. Thoughts?
