This is my 1968 quarter that has lost a portion of the reverse cladding.
The weight of it is: 4.85 grams

Very cool! I like the color of the copper core!

I wonder if it circulated and then started to clam shell or if the clad was separated from the start. It looks like it's seen a few miles, but it may have been a pocket piece. When did you aquire it? Was it in the pictured condition when you got it?

very good questions Yoko. Yes it appears like spent time in the world for a while, at some point during circulation, I'm guessing that it clam-shelled

Nice pick. I like these more than a complete loss of clad layer. Looks like it happened in 2 stages.
