Hey coinnoisseurs I'm not sure what to call this one. it looks like a Dryer Coin, but at the time it looks like a proof clashed cap coin like the other ones I have. I don't know if it's been polished or why does it have that cameo shine? Thoughts? It has a Ridge Ring as well and a small die crack on left reverse. If it's a clashed cap what stage do you guys think?

Nice Struck Through Die Cap! Not seeing a Die Clash though.

What about that shine it has? Maybe the OP polished it? Are there any proofs die caps?

I suspect this isn't a proof coin. Not seeing a 'classic' Ridge Ring.

Cool looking effect on this die cap strike! Don't know for sure, but a proof strike through die cap seems unlikely
because much extra attention is given to proof coins that would avoid that.

The toning on the obverse is pretty cool.

I agree that it's unlikely a proof could escape detection, but different eras and mint locations might have had packers who were a bit on the hazy side.

Here are two 1970's die cap strikes, the colors looks like completely different handling situations. Maybe as I said the OP polished the shiny one? But something just bugs me telling me it might be a proof.

Here is a better comparison of what I think would be proof vs regular strike but you guys are the pros!
