197? Lincoln Cent Proof Clashed Cap Strike?

Alonzowick90 Pillar of the Community United States 654 Posts	Posted 08/14/2024 3:25 pm Hey coinnoisseurs I'm not sure what to call this one. it looks like a Dryer Coin, but at the time it looks like a proof clashed cap coin like the other ones I have. I don't know if it's been polished or why does it have that cameo shine? Thoughts? It has a Ridge Ring as well and a small die crack on left reverse. Don't know for sure, but a proof strike through die cap seems unlikely because much extra attention is given to proof coins that would avoid that. Report this Post to the Staff

I agree that it's unlikely a proof could escape detection, but different eras and mint locations might have had packers who were a bit on the hazy side. Report this Post to the Staff
