Opinions on this Mint Mark? Does not look like RPM. Possible OMM? Recently found this in an old cardboard coin book that looks like may have got damp.

I'm in the RPM camp, check coppercoins to see if you can find a match. https://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln...pe=mm&page=0

Could be, Could be.. there are quite a few listed RPM's '57-D. You should perhaps use this as a learning experience,
to see if you can find any possible matches on the error websites. Note: your MM will need to be in the same exact location/position
as the already know listed RPM's.

Wow, You're right it is a:

1957D-1MM-005
| D/D SOUTH
CONECA: RPM-005 Crawford: CRPM-001
Wexler: WRPM-005 FS#: unlisted
A nice spread to the south shows all along the lower edge of the mintmark. Obverse is also listed as 1957D-1DO-002.

I didn't realize there were so many and never looked at https://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln...pe=mm&page=0

Thanks for the help this is my first RPM.

Does your coin have any of the Die Markers listed? ie: large die cracks on lincoln's head. Too much glare on your photos to tell.

Coin Idiot,
Fixed your title.
In what year did they stop making OMM's?

Nice find! You might want to try giving your coin a soak in 100% pure acetone to help loosen the crud, on the reverse.

Thanks John1 and I would say the last year it could have happened is 1989 because that was the last year for hand punched MM. Had to look it up, am I right?

Errers and Varietys, some else also suggested that, I think I'll give it a try, can't hurt at this point.

Tacc, yes here are some better pics:

And, Thank you Coinfrog.

This is my first RPM, cool.

I have 5 more pennies from this same book:

1952 D
1953 D
1955 D
1958 D
1959 No MM

All in the same condition, no DDO's or DDR's and the 59 is not a Wheat.

OMMs stopped in 1955 and 1989 was the last year for RPMs on cents.

Here's a question: if a mint mark were found today on 1990's to present that was doubled, would it be considered a doubled die obverse or would it be called an rpm?

I would say it would have to be a doubled die.
