Hi Everyone,

I am new to this site, I have a couple of coins I inherited from my father and need some help. I am from West Virginia, USA

I have a 1964 Kennedy half dollar that is sealed in some sort of capsule. Has anyone seen this capsule and is there a way to get this coin out without damage to the coin. Thanks for any advice
Donna

Sorry, I am unable to upload the file. Site too complicated for me, thanks just the same.

Your post was moved to the appropriate forum for the proper attention.

Does the capsule have a seam around the edge you can fit a utility blade into?

Look as some of the ones for sale here. Do any of them look similar to what you have?

Please do not ask for pictures yet!

I want to leave this topic open to see if the question can be answered without them.

I have seen some caps that are a screw tight type but most are just a press fit.
Look at the edge and see if there are threads or not, if not then a sharp knife may help getting it open.

Hummmm.. I've heard collectors call "slabs" encapsulation" . Might not want to open if it's something like that. Just my opinion.
