A local bank called East West Bank that primarily serves the Chinese community. And because Chinese people collect a lot of coins, they're the ones that get the coins first and have lots of it, too.

**I'm surprised to see Wachovia up there. Are your Wachovias big? Ours are just a small service counter ... and that's about it...

I find that BB&T and a regional bank called First Citizens tend to cater to my wants and needs the most. Least favorable is RBC Centura.

It would be a local bank, Huron Community Bank. And there is one employee that always knows my name too. She is the head teller and goes out of here way for me e.g. she put together a full box of 2009-D Lincoln cents from several other boxes.

John 1 - I wish I had a teller like that. I've had good experiences at PNC bank, and I'm starting to develop some rapport with the tellers there. They like that I don't dump my $500 in weekly Kennedy's there. I hope I can get them to look out for the 2009 cents for me! I've heard other people mention that they will bring cup cakes etc. for the tellers to help reward them for new Lincoln rolls or customer half rolls. The bank I work for has been less than accomodating in order half dollars. They told me I could only get $1000 at a time. Hogwash!

wachovia ordered a box of halves for me (a then non-customer) over the phone, with no questions, no hassles. I routinely go to pick up boxes of nickels. the branch is small so they usually end up giving me 50 loose rolls of nickels, often a mix of customer wrapped and fed/brinks wraps. I've also had my best luck with this particular wachovia branch...most of my War Nickels have come from this and all the buffaloes and Liberty nickels as well. I may have to order one last box of halves before I move across town in a week.

There's a little local bank in my town called Community National Bank, about 3 blocks from my house. This is the place where the head teller sat me at a table in the vault, dumped a bag of Kennedy Half-dollars on the table and let me look through them, unsupervised all the while. Still can't believe that happened and I don't have an account there.

Wow that is trusting...whenever they go in the vault to get me a box of cents, they always have to take another teller to accompany them...they don't even trust other bank employees to go in there by themselves.

You must look like a trustworthy guy ;)

louie, I always thought I looked pretty scary. However, I'm sure there were a dozen security cameras pointed at me while I was there.

Gothic, no, unfortunately there weren't any but I was looking for them. I think the banks are becoming more aware of what coins are more valuable and are pulling them. However, the head teller gave her name and told me to come back in a couple of months and check what they have again.

I think I just might do that!
