I'm not sure if this is the same person that I wrote to about selling machined nickels to make heads heads or tails tails trick nickels and they ended it but this one made it through and got 76.00
Free shipping though.

Not a lucky nickel. Not a lucky winner.

Only coin item the seller has. It very well could have been sold in ignorance. 13 bids. I've stopped having pity towards buyers of Blatant impossibilities. Fake 1909 I could understand but a double headed nickel with different dates?

G'day, there's an old proverb: it begins -

But who would buy such a thing. Any one into error collecting is going to know that it is impossible to get two headed with differing dates. I really don't understand the source of demand?!

We don't know much about coins

Yeah, sure they don't!
I hope this buyer takes this to a coin shop or better yet, a major show so they can tell him/her they just bought a worthless coin worth maybe 50 cents to a novelty collector. I also like how the seller specifies "NO RETURNS". He knew exactly what he was doing. Expect to see more from this guy.

Well.. just because someone is into error coins doesn't mean they know a whole lot. There are a LOT of un-edumacated collectors out there. They like certain things, but haven't taken the time to educate themselves on what certain things are, how they are created, etc.

There's always a period of time between when a person starts collecting and when they start learning about collecting. It's within that time where they are most vulnerable - and it's exactly that time-frame that sellers like this are targeting.

If that buyer had done one search on google on a double-headed coin, they would have seen 85 results from this forum alone (ok, only a slight exaggeration) and would have been pre-warned. Simply, some just don't do their research until it is too late.

Good point. And just as I say that, I get an email about a 1914-D from my "buying coins" ad on craigslist. Time to see how good at determining what is real and what is not I am. A true put up or shut up moment.

I don't see how you know nothing about coins/ don't collect coins and find a "Error" like that living in the UK? Do they just have rolls of US coins at their banks interchangeable?

Seller is in the USA though ? You know ... it could just be what the seller says , maybe they did find it in a roll.
Itll be fun watching the feedback come in for that one.
