Cool Find. Would like to know if it is a rare one though The W is thick.

The W, on the Mercury dime, is the initial of the designer. This dime appears to have been minted in Denver--note the D at the bottom left of the branch (close to the rim).

To me, it looks like circulation flattening on the "W" initial.

Not seeing any errors, but still a nice find. It's 90% silver, so it's worth silver value.

The initial is thick because it is 2 letters (A and W - the W over the the A)
This coin was was designed by Adolph A. Weinman
