Another Dug coin (Metal Detecting). I was amazed at the condition of this coin when it came out of the ground.

Amazing detector find! Congrats!
I'd call this EF-40 for details, with some porosity as expected from environmental exposure. The date is characteristically weak, common for the pre-1925 SLQs.

Really terrific. Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Strong EF-40 details...might be EF-45

That is quite a find!

Excellent find, overall I'd grade this as VF-35.

Wow, what a great find ! Not nearly as damaged as one would expect from a buried coin, I would give this an XF grade, very close to AU. Some people have all the luck...A great reason to keep digging !

I agree with XF40 Environmental damage. Very nice date on that coin. Great find!

I would love to know where you are finding coins like that in the ground!

They don't all come out of the ground looking like that, actually very few do. Every once in a while you pull a good one out. This one was found in the front yard of an old farm house in Olathe, KS.
