It appears a bit of debris found its way between the "B" and the "E" on this uncirculated 1954 LWC. Tried a few camera / lighting settings to get a good look at it:
1954-S-LWC-With-Odd- 1954-S-LWC-With-Odd-

What's the correct way to describe this ? Thanks.

Excellent chunky BIE. On the reverse, is that a die crack coming off the top of the left wheat stalk?

On the negative die, the spaces between the letters in Liberty are produced by relatively tall and thin bits of metal. After prolonged coin striking, those ridges were prone to cracking, particularly the area between the B and E.

BIE cents have a cult following. Yours is a strong example on a coin in nice condition. Many would consider it collectible.

@jfeed: Thank you for that link.
I was going through a tray of inherited 2x2's. There were three UNC 1954-S examples and wondered if the one in this thread should be catalogued differently.
In the LWC collecting universe, do such examples merit any sort of premium ?
Thanks to all for the feedback and information. I modified the thread title to refine the topic. Enjoy your day.
