The mint mark is partially hidden by a die chip (raised metal). But you can still see most of the "S"

Appears to be the result of Die Deterioration more so rather than a die chip.

Sure is odd looking either way. But the way it is trending towards the rim I'll lean more on DDD than a chip here.
