I was trying to find references to this penny and see if there are varieties out there with a doubled ear, but can't tell for sure. Below are images of the coin. Any help in the right direction is much appreciated.

Not seeing doubling on the ear. You are looking in the right spot though.

The link you posted is a P minted coin and yours is a D minted coin. I added the D to your title.
Your coin looks like a hit or maybe even a die chip, but I do not see it as a DDO. In that link look at the ear lobe and the eye area.
Also,try filtering your light.
