Heya! Could this be an example of the 1990s Kennedy half DDO? It has been a challange finding any information on this particular DDO. I was wondering if anyone can take a look and give their opinion. I added in pictures of the regular 1990s 50C DCAM strike to help illustrate the differences. This is most visible to me in the thickness of the date, the serifs on WE and the S in trust. Sorry for the picture quality the coin is still in the mint case and it has been a struggle to get any decent pictures. Thanks for taking a look!

Seems like a strong line on the Y. However, the Variety Vista DDO-001 listing shows the strongest separation on the mint mark. Maybe try to get a better picture of the S?

Now that I looked at some more reference pictures of normal 1990-S proof Kennedy halves, I believe the DDO has a strong tilt to the feet on the TR. Good eye to spot this coin! =)

Finally figured out a way to get half decent pics of this mint mark and it's looking pretty spot on to me Couldn't decide on which lighting I liked better so I threw in both options.

If this is in fact a DDO how should I proceed with getting it graded/certified? The coin in question is in a mint proof set which makes it way more daunting. Do you crack the case, leave it as is or something else all together when trying to get it sent in for attribution? There seems to be very few examples of this specific error so it seems like something thats hopefully worth investing in. Btw thanks for all the replies and help with the posts so far! Great community yall got here

Congrats on the find. I was with the others here about seeing thickness and your additional images confirmed a DDO for me. (I had actually noticed the MM in your original images but shook it off as lighting.) ANACS would be the only one to slab this one (I think) since it's not an FS variety. They are also the most economical and would be the ones to contact about the best way to process the submission. Here's the link to VV for those that like that sort of thing. http://www.varietyvista.com/12%20Ke...0SDDO001.htm

After looking at your photos of TRUST I believe you have the 90S DDO-001. I think some of your photos do match what is on VV. Attached here is a photo of TRUST from the 90S DDO-001 in my collection.

atrox, what is your photo method for your proof images? Your pictures always show the micro-features in perfect detail, even on proofs. How do you cut the reflection glare like that?

I filter the light through a white cloth (halogen light bulb don't know about LED).

How do you position the light relative to the coin?
