Hey there!

Came across this 1982 penny with a split right through the leg of the R in LIBERTY. Some of the devices look wider than normal but I haven't been able to spot a listing of similar splits. Could this be chalked up to DD or PMD?
Don't exactly know if it worth mentioning but the back of the coin also seems to include some heavy Machine Doubling.

The coin is showing Die Deterioration and the "R" in LIBERTY looks like it was scratched while in circulation, you can see it continuing down in the field below the R.

Nice catch! It didn't even occur to me to look past the split but it seems so obvious now.
