Hello Guys! I have a bunch of Wheat penny, so I decided to slowly look through them, last night I found this penny, that the crack or something on trust call my attention, but when I was taking the picture of the whole coin I realized something is going on on the Lincoln's bust, I don't know what is that and I don't recall to see this before. Can you please help me with thi one? Thanks!

Maybe a heavy handed mint worker, I've seen this before but not to this extreme. I noticed in the full coin shot (very nice pics once again), that there was a lot of strong abrading/die scratches, that makes me think there may have been a strong clash at one time. The area in question is where EPU would transfer, so maybe a real heavy polishing? Could just have been something drug across the die too, creating the gouges/dents. Very cool looking, regardless.

I enjoy checking out different threads with questions that I know will have good pics, it makes it so much easier to try to help and we all appreciate it.

Here is a link to give you a visual of what may have been polished out.

I like the idea about clashing but I'm wondering if it might be counter clashing under the bust.

I thought about that early on but could not make it line up, even with rotation. It sure does resemble the voids in the jacket though....

Thank you Petespockets55 and makecents!

But I can tell, whatever is going on here (clash or counter clash), when you have the coin in hand you can see that, even with the naked eye, look pretty cool and I like it
