On PCGS there is a line for the 1998 Wide AM and the next line below is 1998 Wide AM FS-901. What's the difference between the two. The pricing is different.

I have never fully understood the FS designation, besides it can mean "Full Steps" on Nickels.

Yes, I got that part. The Question is why is there 2 lines and 2 prices for the same coin.

Since they are two different labels, I assume submitters paid more to get the latter?

Most likely it's because the sales data on the variety is thin, and the estimates are skewed by a tiny number of more expensive auction results.

I assume that either will suffice for that particular registry slot, although I might be mistaken.

somebody just paid more to have the Fivaz-Stanton numbers designation added to the slab in order to possibly garner a higher premium.
