Hey all, I found this going through my collection last night and wondered if I am correct in assuming it is a 1955 s/s/s? Let me know your thoughts? The black marks on it are a bit frustrating but can't be helped. Apologies for the poor photos, I'll try and take some better ones and upload them tomorrow. Much sharper closeup pics needed. This is just mush.

I usually don't comment on RPMs because I'm usually wrong but I agree with EV. Position and lines northeast the MM make it a possibilty.

Yep, looks like RPM-001.

While better pics would be nice, this is an RPM that is easy to attribute due to the MM position and the nature of the secondary punching(s).

Could be an RPM but as stated you will need better photos to determine this.

Quote: Could be an RPM but as stated you will need better photos to determine this. If this was a difficult RPM to attribute, or a new RPM, then for sure better pics would be needed. But this is an iconic RPM, unique in the RPM portfolio, unmistakable even with these poor photos. The position of the MM, and the two extra curves to the North, are clear enough to attribute this one. I didn't create an animation since I am not sure how to upload given their size, but here are comparison images from Variety Vista vs this coin.

Sure looks like an effaced and re-punched MM.

Hey all,
I know I promised new photos yesterday and I apologize for not posting them. I work 12.5 hour shifts over-night 3 or 4 days a week and when I get home I usually just pass out until I have to repeat the cycle. Please bear with me I will update asap

Definitely able to tell it's 001 but better closeups are appreciated. Quote: C'mon, get it going. No slouching on this forum. Frog, you are the poster child for patience!
