Last Monday, 8:30PM delivery. Last Night, 8:30 Pm delivery. Today I look out the window and see my mail is here at 2:00 PM. Expecting 2 packages....1 in mail box. Chase down the driver and she said they'll bring it to you? Can't figure them out...LOL. Probably be walking out to the box again at 8:30 tonight.

Oh my! My carrier used to deliver around lunch time. Now she comes around dinner. I believe the routes are being staggered because they are renovating the local branch office and parking is tight.

I had an 8:30 PM delivery last week. As I recall, I had similar experience last holiday season.

Did you see the head of USPS testify before congress, last week I think it was? Watching some of his answers explains this whole mess.

Quote: As I recall, I had similar experience last holiday season. The holiday load usually brings out the contract delivery drivers here. Those are scanned as "delivered" when they leave the PO. Waiting then becomes very nerve-wracking!

Quote: I'm glad OP started this thread. Even before Thanksgiving things were crazy here. While I agree with everyone on Xmas delays, this has been going on for months. Holiday delays are expected, my packages bouncing all over the country with no rhyme or reason for the past 3-4 months is not. edit-typo fix

Since they implemented the new distribution plan last year, our service has seriously declined. Our sorting center is now illogically located and our mail is much slower. Outgoing mail especially takes forever just to get to the sorting facility. And if they implement their proposed changes for 2025, our mail will get even slower! I think the powers that be forget that everyone deserves to get mail in a timely manner, not just those who live next door to their regional distribution center. Thankfully this Christmas season, I haven't had too many problems with deliveries. The notable exception is that an ebay Standard Envelope containing part of my gift that I will be giving toward the CCF Secret Santa has been lost. I ordered it a month ago, it took two weeks to "arrive" but was never delivered, despite appearing in my Informed Delivery.

It's been my experience that it's scanned as delivered the day before it's actually delivered (Every time I've had one delivered). Not really a reliable tracking service unless the address on the parcel is your local post office..............

I had a chat with my 'usual' postal delivery guy (yes, he is a male) and he stated that during the holidays, the post off was running 2 trucks on each route - one for flat mail, and another for parcels and larger items..

Package shipped in NC and supposed to be delivered in NC (Mapquest shows 57 miles between towns). Apparently USPS thinks they've found a shorter route....... Yet again, another needlessly late package. Welcome to the Postal Follies!

Although with all that traveling, it's still only taking 4 days. At least they're keeping it moving! Interesting that it's in Orlando this morning, and they are still planning delivery in NC later today . . . .
