It's a nice die brake, the start of a RIDB and later IDB

Often called a cracked skull. very common on1955 cents.

Nice cracked skull--not uncommon with '55 wheat cents. Also, look closely at the date. The digits 55 might show some Die Deterioration doubling--leads to the coin being known as a 'poor man's doubled die'. I have a couple hundred of these in tubes--I like 'em.
