Just got this. I thought it was choice for the grade - PCGS. Seller's pics. Many of these seem to have been cleaned that I see. Nice to find a nice example that PCGS has signed off on. Long time since I've bought a coin - birthday present to myself. I think the grade is obvious, but what say you all? Still seems to retain some luster ;>)

Not my birthday for another week, but thanks for the sentiment. I saw this coin a while back and was mulling it over - guy wanted a decent price. Kept coming back to it after I looked at "Cleaned" after "Cleaned." We negotiated just a bit, but I'm satisfied.

I'm guessing some where in the AU Range.

I'd say XF45, maybe AU50. Overall, a very attractive CBH.

Weakly struck ? or perhaps flan impact damage before strike? Some wear on the high points, long since patinated over. AU-55pleasing coin anyway

Looks to me that the EPU banner and states above it were weakly struck due to the obverse design. some wear noted on the coin but not too much, a nice coin - AU 55 sounds about right.

Does the edge have strong lettering? It looks like the edge was lightly spooned. If this is the case, the edge lettering would be at best barely legible. This would be the third or fourth example I have seen in the past six months that passed a TPG with significant damage. Hopefully your example is not damaged, but let us know!

Will report on edge lettering when the coin arrives, jacrispies. I'll post the PCGS grade tomorrow. Interesting opinions expressed.

OK, as promised, here's the PCGS grade. I paid up for this one as an XF45 coin, because I think it's a really nice original coin, with a shot at an upgrade. Obviously, the weak reverse strike is problematic, but the eye appeal is solid. I concur with the general consensus of AU53. My opinion and a buck won't even get you a small Coke at the gas station.
