I'd think so EV, looks like a dirt coin.
I swing a metal detector and have a knack for finding dirty old coins.

Thank you, DOCC for your comment. It looks like a metal detecting find. I wonder if I should try conserving it with Verdi-Care or just leave it alone?

Might be a decent example to try some 'conservative' conservation techniques on--discover what works, and what to avoid.

Already details so I would experiment. Really tough to discern the fields - is that buildup, corrosion, or bare metal? Pitting visible? Almost looks like someone tried to conserve before you received.

Good coin to pass on to a young collector. If you want a problem-free example with comparable detail it should only cost a buck or two.
