I am excited about this one! I like the look of the coin because 1) it is a better strike than many I have seen in higher grades (save 4 to 5 o'clock on the reverse, which matters less to me than the shield on the obverse and the stars/rays on the reverse) and 2) it didn't cost and arm and a leg. How would you grade it?

Def not my area, but both sides look very clean and free of dings or anything else. I'll go MS63 maybe 64.

The only thing I don't like is that spot on the "I" on the obverse.

Was going to say 64 but then I thought about this

I hope the discoloration inside the shield did not net it to Environmental damage. Otherwise it does look like it could go 63 or 64.

Wow. Everyone was super consistent on this one--and that includes PCGS!

Very nice, Adam! I do like the subtle circular toning, especially on the reverse.

I agree with the grade also. It's a solid 63, not overgraded, not undergraded.

the slab photos show the luster a lot better. I had it at MS63 also and finding one with a full shield strike is not easy. nice coin. my favorite Shield nickel with those rays.
