Since this is a zink penny copper coated, the only way to change its color is use chemicals that will turn it to gold, this is not gold color this is a red brass color

You can change the color of that penny with simple chemicals. You have you around in your house. It'll be shiny break gold, or you can ship the copper off the penny itself. But nothing in our environment will turn up that zinc penny.To a red brass color environmental damage will cause that penny to turn green or black.

Yes, better pics needed. But not an annealing error which basically would change the color. This does look like it was in a batch of nitric acid for a few seconds. I used to do this for kids in my chemistry classes to show them nitric acid dissolves metal. Depending on how long the coin is in the acid, more and more is eaten away.
