@010, first welcome to CCF. Second, this US cent is pretty typical of a lightly circulated coin and is only worth face value unless there is something that you haven't told us.

This is just a typical circulated 1984 penny worth one cent.

Since you have not been specific and told us exactly what it is you see that makes us look odd to you I will guess:

If the surface texture of the penny has you concerned, stuff like this happens with copper plated zinc pennies made in the US which started with some of the pennies made in 1982. Sometimes it has to do with plating issues that occurred at the mint.

Error-ref.com has a good section about varius plating issues you can find. There is no market for them since they are so common and show up in various ways.
