The silver medals included with the C&C sets have, so far, been unique.

It looks like that is about to change with the Teddy medal being released this year.

I have to assume the others (FDR, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, LBJ, and Bush Sr.) will be duplicated as well.

A very reasonable assumption.

It would probably be asking too much—and probably outside the rules—to have something added somewhere to differentiate the two.

Since the medals can be freely moved in and out of the C&C OGP, there is no guarantee an original has not been swapped for another example.

At least I have some provenance for this example...

It is my understanding that the silver medals are all the same design as the bronze medals the US Mint have already made.

Yes, the silver medals are largely duplicates of the medals found in the Mint's long-running bronze Presidential Series.

Yes, this is true. But there has been some speculation—dare I say hope—that they would deviate from this pattern for the presidents already represented by silver medals in the C&C sets.

Another poor decision by the Mint (to duplicate).

I don't have any of the C&C series - are they the same size and weight of the Presidential medals?

it looks like the design change is starting with Ben Harrison (mint product # S823)
then they skip S824 (A Cleveland re-do)

the Cleveland design (S822) looks like the earlier ones.

I have two. The one already slabbed above and one still in the OGP. The latter is worth more to me that way, so the "is it or is it not" question is for someone else down the line.

Yes. They are exactly the same. Minted on the ASE blanks.

Historically speaking I too collect The Presidential silver series Medals, The present day medals in My opinion Could of had more "details ", More Related Personal information.

In the beginning they were Bland, Un-Moving , Not engaging as much as They needed , Seems the designs shifted and as of Late, The series now reflects the years in office on the reverses, IMO they also Should of added the President's Numbered year in office, Like Dearborn mentioned that Information is Listed on the Boxes Product Codes, But Not on the Medals, When they started....

C&C sets are Also Very Historic and Informative to history lovers Too. I collected Many of these for the sentiment and Historic significance , Holding these sets in hand brings me back to the History Directly related to the sets, I enjoy the ability to refresh my knowledge with just a glance, .....
