Got it from Heritage last night $2,220. Been wanting it since a kid. I just didn't have the energy to really shop.

One of my favorite DDO's. Good deal.

to the CCF, michaelclarke1978! You can't go wrong with a 1955DDO. It's a beautiful coin and you're lucky to have such a nice one - even with the details.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Surfaces Smoothed can only mean Pencil Eraser! See kids never a good idea to pencil eraser your coins. Naw JK'ing. That '55 DDO would be just fine for me at that price, that's one of my 3 all time US Coin DDO's on my bucket list. Nice Job!

It's a handsome coin. Congrats on adding it to your collection.

The prices have been going up on those over the years. Looks like a real nice example, and "surfaces smoothed" is usually undetectable by eye. So 2200$ wasn't bad - congrats!

to the CCF It looks like a beauty to me. Congratulations on the purchase. I paid $2000 for the following raw example - now in a PCGS AU55 holder. So your price is not out of line.

Nice example. Congrats. I have a friend who bought an MS one with funds from his paper route in the 60's for $125 and was admonished by his mom for spending so much! He continues to get the last laugh.

Nice coin, can not go wrong with that coin and I do think you got a good deal. In a few years you will look back and wonder why you even questioned about the value. Nice pick up.
