Hi all,

Thought I'd share this Connecticut Copper I dug last month which is in really decent shape. It's probably my best, or second best CT I've dug over the years. It's a Miller 3-D.1/WS-2510 with an R5+ rarity rating. It was dug at the former cabin site of a Green Mountain Boy who accompanied Ethan Allen on his raid to capture Ft. Ticonderoga, and while I'll never be able to prove it was this man's coin, it adds some provenance to the find. The site is just some field stones and a few brick/pottery shards in an otherwise unremarkable plowed field now. I plan on sending this one in to be graded by PCGS, but thoughts are this will likely come back with environmental damage with perhaps VF details. Appreciate any thoughts on this coin. Regards, John

Nice coin, great details. It will surely come back as environmental damage or downright corroded. I don't see the value there for having it slabbed, but if it's to protect it or for your own enjoyment of it, then go for it. I collect Connecticut coppers by variety but I'm more of a slab cracker than a slabber, I always break them out if I get one in a slab.

Gorgeous find @btv! Really nice job not damaging it all while digging it up.
