"Old U.S. coins lot of 30 Mercury dimes, Mixed From 1916P - 1945D All 90% Silver."
This is currently in Auction on ebay and it grabbed my attention since I don't have many Mercury dimes and am looking to start filling out the Set! Current high bid is $66.17 with 9 days to go. I don't want to end up overpaying so I was hoping to get some opinions on what a sensible bid would be
Pictured below are the actual Coins.

Current melt value is right at $70. I personally wouldn't go above $80 or so.

I like buying this stuff, and the older (non-Roosevelt/Washington) coins go for a bit more than melt. Mercury dimes right now go for about $2.50 each, a bit more if they are older as some of these are, with a good number of 1910s-20s. There are also ebay fees and shipping to take another bite. I'd go $80 on this including shipping.

Thanks ratman4762 & TimNH I suppose I would have to agree with both of you, the only decent year would be the 1919-S but it looks maybe VG12?

9 days left? That's a boatload of time for misinformed bidders to raise the price way too high for what that lot is worth.

Thought I'd check back in on this one, the lot went for $97 incl. shipping, well above my $80 estimate. When you get a lot of Mercurys they are usually mostly 1940s, maybe this was more appealing w/ the nice scattering of dates back to the earliest. Or maybe there was a semi-rare date in there, any case good to watch and learn the market.

I guess it depends what you want for the album. I think you could pick up a batch of nice 1930s thru 1945 dimes for cheap, then fill other dates.

Do not forget to include tax with purchase, unless the state you lived in are exempt from it.
